Maintenance Mechanic / Military Tactical Vehicle
Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Field Maintenance Foreman or General Foreman.
Performs organizational level and direct support maintenance on US military tactical and non-tactical equipment, sub-systems, support equipment and related end item systems comprised of a wide assortment of wheel vehicles, trailers, engineering, construction and MHE equipment and various tracked vehicles (both with and without ballistic armor).
Diagnoses system malfunctions, isolate causes, and corrects deficiencies. Disassembles and reassembles equipment, according to Technical Manuals (TM), Maintenance Work Orders (MWO), drawings, schematics and custom specifications utilizing lifting devices, hand, power and pneumatic tools.
Inspects, repairs, and replaces components, engines, transmissions, and sub-assemblies. Trains/mentors team members in solving usual and unusual maintenance problems through analysis and troubleshooting. Identifies parts outlined in repair manuals and requisitions the required parts. Installs specified new or reconditioned parts and/or makes required adjustments and reassembles complete unit. Candidate must be able to troubleshoot electrical, MVAC and drivability problems.
Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Promotes teamwork and actively participates in quality improvement process. Promotes safety awareness and complies with all applicable safety procedures and regulations, performs other duties and activities as directed.
Must be fluent in English
Must have Five (5) years’ of experience working on U.S. military tactical vehicles.
Must have EAP 609 MVAC Certification.
Must possess knowledge of ability to read and understand schematics, and technical drawings.
Must possess a valid passport with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
Must possess a home country valid driver’s license.
Preferred qualifications and skill:
Candidates with prior Military and or LOGCAP experience in working with military equipment and environment.
Candidates with MRAP-U certification.
Candidates with 40hrs HAZWOPER – OSHA certification.
Candidates with technician certification or work experience with RTCH’s (KALMAR RT-240).
Candidates with knowledge of US military regulations and OEM requirements, including OSHA, ANSI regulations standards.
