Associate Specialist, Procurement
Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field. Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.
This position is located at a client site in Parkersburg, WV. No Per Diem or Relocation will be offered.
Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.
Takes responsibility for purchases in support of customer-related business processes or for internal use.
Discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers, and is responsible for negotiating refunds.
Coordinates with operations, maintenance, warehouse and engineering to ensure proper scheduling and movement of goods and supplies.
Other Essential Functions
Good communication and documentation of work products are essential
Coordination with on-site Engineers, Designers, construction workers, and production personnel is required
Safe work and compliance with DuPont and KBR safety rules are required
Experience in the procurement field is preferred
Chemical plant experience is preferred
Computer skills with Microsoft Office products are required
Experience with SAP is a plus
Work is located at a chemical plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes
Work often requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas, walking up stairs, climbing ladders, taking field measurements, and walking the plant property
Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc
