The opportunity

As part of a new regional strategy, KBR has established

an office in Newcastle, servicing the region with project management,

engineering and environmental services. In support of our commitment to deliver

projects with collaboration, discipline and the KBR way, we are seeking the

services of an experienced Project Manager to share our journey.

What you will be involved with

Our consulting engagement options include (but are not limited to) project

management contractor, client representative, program management, project

engineering services and secondment on projects ranging from $1M to $500M.

This role will be a seller-doer role including a mix of business

development as well as project management activities for clients.

The core responsibilities will include:

Develop and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues and

stakeholders

Bidding for and winning work

Understanding of the project delivery workflow

Developing and scoping projects to business requirements and aligning

stakeholders

Preparation of project business cases and delivery strategies for seeking

governance approval and optimal business outcome.

Management of procurement and tender activities including technical and

commercial elements, approvals and execution, including risk management and

change management

Management of design and construction activities ensuring HSE, cost,

schedule and quality objectives are achieved.

Management of construction processes either directly or via commercial

arrangement

Management of completions and handover processes to client requirements.

Project reporting and risk management

Prerequisites

The role is open to project managers with over 10 years’ experience

across the water, mining or industrial sectors.

Engineering or construction management degree or

equivalent

Project / Program Management experience

Minimum 10 years’ experience in water, mining or

industrial sectors in a project management or project engineering role.

Demonstrated experience in brownfield projects, having

delivered projects/programs in the range from $10M to $100M

Procurement processes experience (specifically on tender

preparation, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement)

Commitment and desire to learn, being transparent (KBR

values and client), trusted in managing confidential information, open for

challenges (dynamic workplace, constant change)

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

AIPM/PMI Membership / Accreditation (highly desirable)
