Our Government Services division is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will have experience in the Defence environment. The position will be engaged for the AASIMS contract, based at Garden Island and repots to the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
Collating and analysing data to determine the health of the System, as defined by the system boundary.
Verifying engineering solutions provided by the ISC to solve equipment obsolescence problems.
Assisting with reviewing engineering design tasks for replacement of marine equipment and conduct technical Design Reviews.
Undertake drafting of technical risk assessments using TRMS IAW ANP3411-0010 for review by suitable PE Del/Lead Mechanical Engineer or Principal Engineer.
Assist Lead Mechanical Engineer in conduct of Technical and Engineering Investigations in response to tasking from the AASSPO, to include options, recommendations and ROM, as a minimum.
Assist Lead Mechanical Engineer in conduct of Engineering Assessment Task Definitions in response to tasking from the AASSPO.
Independently review draft work plans, work schedules, and work lists relating to engineering work and provide comments, recommendation and advice.
Verify Problem Resolution forms (RPRs) raised by the ISC for any equipment or spare that does not or may not reflect the Ships Approved baseline.
Undertaking and delivering System Engineering (Mechanical) activities to ensure compliance with approved policy, plans and processes.
Maintaining ‘Standards in Engineering’ and ‘Engineering Standards’ in line with the policy and principles of KBR.
Degree, or equivalent, qualification in a recognised engineering related discipline.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a Defence Naval Support Environment
Eligible for membership or graduate membership of a recognised professional body.
An existing or previously held Australian Government Security Clearance
Must be an Australian citizen
