opportunity exists for an enthusiastic environmental practitioner to lead our

expanding Hunter region environment business. You will be responsible for client

relationships, business development and sales, technical oversight and the

commercial success of our environment business in the Hunter Region.

You will have input into the strategic direction of our

environmental offering, by drawing on your experience, knowledge and contacts

to identify market trends, future opportunities and potential clients. You will

collaborate with interstate colleagues on major infrastructure projects and

guide and support your local team of environmental professionals.

The Newcastle-based office is a new enthusiastic and

focused team with a mix of project managers, water engineers, environmental

scientists, environmental engineers and planners, and we are seeking a driven

individual to join our team. While at KBR you have the opportunity to work on a

wide range of projects including in the water, transport, natural resources,

and government sectors. The group provides specialist environmental inputs to

multi-disciplinary projects, as well as undertaking its own scientific and

technical investigations for clients. The person will work closely with

our Sydney-based office.

The role is open to principal environmental practitioners,

ideally with experience over fifteen years.


This role will lead projects, provide technical support,

write reports and plans, and participate in multi-disciplinary teams on a range

of projects.

The role will have a strong

focus on NSW and will likely comprise the following responsibilities:


and implement the Hunter region environment business strategy


and secure environmental consulting projects in the Hunter region


broader engineering capability by scoping and delivering environmental inputs

to multidisciplinary projects


and mentor our Hunter region environment team personnel


secure and execute environmental projects in the Hunter region


with other environment teams, especially in Sydney


and implement strategic relationships with organisations that will assist KBR

in expanding the Environment business.


awareness of project progress to ensure technical excellence is achieved and

meets client satisfaction and to position for future work;


technical oversight, technical guidance, and technical inputs to projects to

ensure that project outcomes meet or exceed the required project outcomes


KBR environmental expertise in the market place by providing technical papers

at conferences


KBR with strategic direction in the Environmental Services industry, by drawing

on experience and knowledge to identify market trends, future opportunities and

potential clients;


up to date with relevant Commonwealth, State and Local legislation, policies

and guidelines


to the identification and pursuit of opportunities including writing project

award submissions and bids.


team leadership and task management


work in the areas of environmental impact assessment, natural resource

management, permitting and approval processes



is a senior appointment and as such we are seeking a highly skilled individual

who has well developed industry networks in the Hunter region.


or postgraduate qualifications in environmental science, environmental

engineering or other relevant discipline.


consulting experience and a well-established client and industry networks in

the Hunter region, ideally in the mining, transport and/or industrial client



experience as Seller-Doer


and project management experience and well-developed client networks;


verbal and written communication skills;


of bid budgets, writing proposals and preparation of marketing materials;


and understanding of Federal, state and local legislation, regulatory

frameworks, and policy, and experience applying it to achieve practical



with Part 4, Part 5 and Part 5.1 assessments under the EP&A Act highly



expertise in writing high level technical reports, conference papers and

presentation material
