The Prepositioning and Marine Corps Logistics Services (P&MCLS) program is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.
We are seeking a
Manager for our Jacksonville, Florida location.
This position will oversee and direct a wide variety of MPF materiel and logistical functions requiring a comprehensive knowledge of logistical functions including automated deployment, maintenance, inventory/warehousing, and supply systems. Will demonstrate strong leadership and management capabilities to ensure that materiel activities operate efficiently. Will direct and manage supply operations and related supply functions including the procurement, receipt, accounting, repair, storage, issue, disposal, computation, and maintenance of stock levels.
Manages the transportation of supplies and equipment.
Oversees customer service requests for supplies and locates items, orders, crates/packages and transports to various destinations.
Directs inventory operations and total warehousing activities.
Responsible for forklift operations, and the building of all necessary packaging options (crates, containers, boxes).
Oversees the disposal of surplus property, utilizing knowledge of merchandising practices.
Oversees the inspection of property to ascertain condition and estimate market value.
Investigates market conditions and facilities to determine time, place, type of sale, and other relates information to make strategic business decisions.
Recommends destruction or abandonment of property not deemed possible or practical to sell or salvage. Develops and maintains a strong, effective relationship with the customer, acting as primary interface between the customer and daily program operations/administration for material matters.
Plans and manages human resource activities within assigned area of responsibility in a union environment.
Oversees the recruitment and hiring process for the supply function. Establishes performance objectives/goals, monitor progress against goals and supervises direct reports.
Determines salary actions, promotions, transfers or other related personnel actions.
Maintains MPF ISO-9002 policies and procedures and ensures on-going compliance with such.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must have a BS degree in logistics, engineering or related field.
Knowledge of GCSS or equivalent enterprise level logistics system and management oversight of system administration.
Must have ten years of leadership experience managing managers, including specialized knowledge of all applicable logistic support activities, involving various aspects of cost/schedule controls, performance monitoring, report writing, program planning and customer interface.
