Assist in the performance of
overall direction and management to a department of skilled technicians and mechanics, performing diverse activities , such as installing, operating, repairing and maintaining equipment and utility systems, as well as materials handling
in support for MPF’s maintenance operations. Through subordinate supervisors, assist in coordinating the activities of the department to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
Assist in reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine requirements and makes recommendations to Branch Manager to improve overall efficiency. Through subordinate supervisors, ensures that all completed work is in compliance with specifications and time schedules. Assist in performing administrative management tasks and prepares related management reports. Assists in the formulation of administrative and operations policies and procedures and ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations. Assist in
providing technical guidance/assistance and makes decisions where written guidelines are not available. Assist in planning and managing human resource activities within assigned area of responsibility, and within an organized labor union environment.
Interviews applicants and recommends employees for hire.
Supervises direct reports. Assist in establishing performance objectives/goals.
Monitors employee progress against goals.
Assist in determining promotions, transfers or other related personnel transactions. Supervises the requisitioning, receipt and allocation of tools, parts, and material required for a Engineer shop. Assist in developing labor and time estimates. Assist in establishing and supervises production line and inspection procedures. Maintains MPF ISO-9002 policies and procedures and ensures on-going compliance with such. Performs other related duties as assigned.
BS degree in mechanical engineering or other related discipline.
In lieu of a degree, an
combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience.
Ten (10) years of directly related work experience in a maintenance/logistic environment.
Six (6) years of supervisory experience in a maintenance / logistic environment.
Completion of the Basic Engineer Course.
U. S. Citizen
Complete the Engineer Officer Course.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
orking knowledge of EXCEL/ACCESS software.
Working knowledge of MDSSII.
Extensive working knowledge within GCSS
Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
