Contracts Manager



Responsible for managing the overall contracting process for KBR contract.

In addition to performing all post award contract administration functions for this Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, provide review and analysis of task orders, solicitations and specifications.

Negotiate and administer Cost type or Fixed Price type contract changes.

A key skill is the ability to effectively provide direction to the project team to resolve contract administration issues.

May prepare data items such as project self-assessments, periodic progress reports, project schedules, contract funds status reports or other contractually required documentation.

Review all document submissions, including proposals and estimates, while ensuring compliance with the contract; Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA); the Contractor’s approved business systems; and client/US Government requirements, rules, processes or regulations.

Advise Project Managers and other project personnel on contract requirements.

Job tasks correctly performed impact directly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability and operations. Prepare and maintain contract documentation such as price negotiation memorandums, evidence of proper company reviews/approvals, and conformed working copies of contracts.

Prepare documentation involving expression of the company’s position on potential disputes, claims or protests.

Interface with US Government Contracting Officers (CO) on a regular and routine basis.

Develop a collaborative positive working relationship based on respect, honesty, and transparency.



EDUCATION: Bachelor’s science or arts degree in business administration, engineering, or finance and accounting. A Master’s degree is a plus. Furthermore demonstrated continuing education in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)

CERTIFICATIONS: Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II certification

EXPEREINCE; The CM shall have at least 8-10 years’ experience in Government contract administration.

Specific experience in administration and management of firm fixed price contracting is required

ABILITIES: The candidate must be a self-starter capable of working in a fast paced multi-discipline team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve team goals.

Proven management skills to include effective planning, organizing, directing and controlling with strong decision making capabilities. Excellent analytical skills – data driven, fact based, root cause focused. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to lead a team to consensus.

Understanding of litigation and claims processes and experience with legal communities.

Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and listening.

Ability to interact with staff at all levels from craft persons to senior executives.

Knowledge base to successfully diagnosis issues that cover multiple areas of interaction.


Active Secret Clearance with at least 12 months remaining validity

Fluent in English language

Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
