Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and minimum of 2 years related experience, with typical experience ranging from 3-7 years.
Conduct structural calculations and analysis and design on fixed and/or floating offshore structures
Develop written technical reports and presentations
Responsible for project deliverable completeness, accuracy and quality under supervision
Perform site inspections on behalf of the company
Engagement in development of technical data for fixed and/or floating IM
Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Ocean Engineering or Naval Architecture required; Master's degree preferred.
Industry experience preferred.
Practical knowledge and experience with different types of structures.
Good communication skills that include
Ability to develop written reports and PowerPoint presentations
Ability to present calculations and analysis results orally
Computer skills which include application of typical Microsoft Office products, familiarity with structural analysis packages (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, SACS) is a plus
Experience that indicates
Ability to take on and solve difficult engineering problems with limited supervision.
Good interpersonal skills
