This position is contingent upon award of the contract

Rigger – Contingency hire

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Responsible in all aspects of deck activities

Carrying out good housekeeping and continually cleaning general deck areas to remove potential obstructions and return equipment and material not in use to their designated storage areas.

Loading and offloading materials

Participating in project work as instructed by Rigger Leaderman and Foreman

Knowledge of lifting equipment in use is key

Continuously monitor rigging equipment being used and remove from service any equipment found defective

Erecting and dismantling scaffolding; inspect and sort scaffolding as required.

Maintaining and up-keep of scaffolding materials when needed, in proper order

Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established HSES Safety Standards and Work Practices

Ensuring that all activities are undertaken in accordance with all safety and quality requirements

Personnel performing rigging shall have an understanding of all signs, notices, and operating instructions, and be familiar with the applicable hand signals prescribed by the ASME B30 standard for the type of crane in use.

2) Personnel performing rigging shall be familiar with the rigging requirements in EM 385-1-1, NAVFAC P-307, 29 CFR Part 1910, and 29 CFR Part 1926.

3) The Contractor shall inspect rigging gear in accordance with EM 385-1- 1, NAVFAC P-307, 29 CFR Part 1910, and 29 CFR Part 1926 and paragraph 1.7.2 of NAVFAC P-307. Certification records shall be made available for review upon request.

Additional requirements:

Must be fluent in English

Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
