SENIOR TECHNICAL PROFESSIONAL – ELECTRICAL

Under general supervision, the Senior Technical Professional - Electrical performs all conventional aspects of electrical engineering, with additional support of control systems engineering. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents.

This is a full time position located at a chemical plant in Washington Works, WV. No relocation or per diem will be paid.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for study, design, specification and services related to electrical and electronic systems including power generation, transmission and distribution, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centers, communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding lightning protection, heat tracing etc.

Responsible for design, specification and services related to control systems including basic process control systems, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, telecommunications, field instrumentation, and valves etc. May also be responsible for advanced controls optimization.

Responsible for development of basic data (FEL) for small projects

Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.

May be responsible for leadership of a functional area on a small project or a segment of a larger project.

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering

·

Minimum of 4 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 6 – 10 years of professional working experience

·

Professional Engineer Certification preferred

·

Additional knowledge and experience of Control Systems engineering preferred

·

Chemical Plant experience a plus
