Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic

Light-wheel vehicle mechanic performs 10/20 maintenance and recovery operations on gasoline and diesel fueled light-wheel vehicles (prime movers designated as 5 ton or less and their associated trailers), and associated items; supervises unit maintenance and recovery operations on track and heavy-wheel vehicles, and on material handling equipment (MHE).

Maintains power assisted brake systems, wheel vehicle suspension systems, wheel vehicle wheel/hub assemblies, wheel vehicle mechanical (manual) steering systems, wheel vehicle hydraulic (power) steering systems, and wheel vehicle crane, hoist, and winch assemblies.

Perform battlefield damage assessment and repair (BDAR). Serve as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic and responsible for the serviceability and accountability of tools and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications


Minimum of 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training in Light Wheeled Vehicle Maintenance.

Additional requirements:

Must be fluent in English

Must possess passport book with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
