Maintenance Mechanic / Military Tactical Vehicle
Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman. Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities. Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. May perform tasks associated with a specific trade as directed in order to deliver a maintenance contract. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as directed. This classification may be used for personnel assigned to either project or corporate building/facilities maintenance. Typically requires 2 years of related experience.
Works under general supervision: inspects diagnoses and repairs a variety of diesel and gasoline combustion automobiles, buses and trucks, (both with and without ballistic armor) as well as construction equipment, support service vehicles and material handling equipment. Mechanic must capable of working on both 12 and 24 volt automotive electrical systems, Installs specified new or reconditioned parts and/or makes required adjustments and reassembles complete unit. Disassembles engines and mechanical units to inspect parts and operating defects. Executes required scheduled preventive maintenance inspections services and procedures as required by both the company and or the government.
The mechanic ensures that all necessary parts are identified and ordered in accordance with the time guidelines provided in the Standing Operating Procedures (SOP’s) of the maintenance department. Performs inspections required by the company or government. Regularly provides basic job training and guidance to less experienced mechanics. Executes required preventive maintenance procedures. Promotes teamwork and actively participates in quality improvement process. Promotes safety awareness and complies with all applicable safety procedures and regulations. Must be able to trouble shoot electrical, MVAC and drivability problems.
Must have Military Tactical Vehicle Maint. Humvees, 2 1/2, 5 Ton, other military tactical vehicles experience
Must be fluent in English
Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
