Cost Specialist, Senior
Forecasts, controls, and reports project costs needed within an organization. Develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports. Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices in project controls. Uses experience and problem solving skills to develop and improve processes. May provide guidance to less experienced team members. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 4
years of experience.
Assists General Site Manager by providing input on cumulative to date cost variances. Develops cost trackers for their site’s material, subcontract, and construction costs and is responsible for internal quality control. Advises the project team on status, issues, potential risk, and cost factors on as-needed basis. Maintains a site’s Cost Report and reviews all cost variances with the Project Controls Lead and General Site Manager.
Must be deployable to work overseas and abroad on all current LOGCAP Task Orders for extended periods of time
Experience working in contingency environments and prior military service a plus
Advance skills in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel formulas
Must have the ability to succinctly and clearly communicate complex concepts to audiences with varied levels of understanding
Basis of Estimate and change management experience a plus
SAP experience a plus
