Fire Services Chief

Plans, develops, and implements department policy. Directs and coordinates department operations. Reviews and develops departmental training. Coordinates departmental budget. Develops, maintains, and produces emergency operations plans for the department. Maintains contact with local community agencies. Plans and directs operations during training and emergencies. Plans, develops and implements an overall company long-term strategic plan involving fire protection. Formulates mission plans involving fire protection. Typically requires 15 years’ experience in fire service, and other related experience is essential.

Under general direction of the Project General Manager,

directs and supervises staff of Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) departments to deliver professional F&ES to clients and customers within the Area of Responsibility. Prepares consolidated F&ES Department Readiness Reports.

Reviews and validates F&ES personnel actions.

Reviews and evaluates PWS and provides recommendations. Is a participating member of the F&ES assessment team.

Represent F&ES, by providing reports, briefings, meetings, inspections and presentations representing the F&ES services to KBR, customer(s), and client. Plans, develops, and implements department policy. Directs and coordinates department operations. Reviews and develops departmental training. Coordinates departmental budget. Develops, maintains, and produces emergency operations plans for the departments. Maintains contact with local community agencies. Plans and directs operations during training and emergencies. Plans, develops and implements an overall F&ES long-term strategic plan involving fire protection. Formulates mission plans involving fire protection. Typically requires 15 years experience in fire services, in an increasing responsibility role, knowledge of or worked in the Management, Operation, Prevention and Training areas of fire protection, and with at least 5 years of service as Chief Officer.

Other F&ES related experience also essential.

Practical experience conducting consequence management of emergency incidents while using the Integrated Command systems.

Writes routine reports and correspondence using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point and Outlook software.

Current Department of Defense (DOD) Fire and Emergency Services Certification for Fire Chief.

Degree in related field preferred.

Professional registrations or certifications preferred.

Requirements:

Must be DOD, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Professional Qualifications System (NPQS) certified.

Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Incident Commander and Airport Fire Fighters. Candidate must include last 4 of SSN to verify certifications via DoD Web site.

Additional requirements:

Must be fluent in English

Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
