Our Water and Environmental team provides consulting services across a diverse range of water resources and water engineering applications and markets for the Water, Environment and Transport sectors.

An exciting opportunity exists within our Melbourne water resources team for an experienced Drainage and Flood Modeller. As the Senior Drainage and Flood Modeller, you will be responsible for leading drainage design on major infrastructure design projects as well as leading high profile hydrological and hydraulic investigations utilising the latest and leading edge technologies. Other responsibilities also include:

Technical and design lead for:

Flood studies (1D & 2D modelling and mapping)

Flood mitigation works and stormwater quantity and quality management

Urban drainage

WSUD and stormwater harvesting

Transport infrastructure drainage

Water resources – hydrology, water balance, water quality, water reuse and dam break assessments

Liaise with other modelling teams interstate

Work within interdisciplinary teams

Prepare proposals and produce quality reports

Provide specialist advice to team members and clients

Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients

Explore and pursue marketing opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have eight plus years' experience and have established relationships within Melbourne Water and DELWP and/or Victorian CMAs and will have:

Bachelor’s Degree or Post Grad in Engineering (Civil or Environmental)

MIEAust, CPEng or equivalent will be well regarded

Hydrologic modelling using RORB and XRAFTS

Hydraulic modelling experience using TUFLOW (essential) and other programs such as HEC-RAS and MIKE

Conversant with Melbourne Water and DELWP requirements relating to flooding and stormwater

Ability to build relationships and maintain rapport with clients and other stakeholders

High level written and oral skills to support: inter-discipline relationships, client relationships, proposal preparation, production of design reports and specialist investigative reports.
