KBR delivers consulting services and Design & Construct projects in the water sector. This provides a very broad range of opportunities and experience for our team. We are currently working on major water pipelines and sewer rehabilitation, mechanical and electrical pumping and treatment works upgrades, dams and retarding basins, irrigation modernisation and related investigation/feasibility studies.
Clients include Rural Water Authorities, Melbourne Water, SEW, CWW, BW and a number of Regional Urban Water Corporations.
We are seeking Civil Engineers with 4 - 8 years design experience in the water sector and experience working in the rural water (irrigation) industry, Melbourne Water or other Regional Urban Water Authorities, to be part of a delivery team on a major project in regional Victoria. The preferred applicant will have a mix of investigation, design and project delivery experience in the areas of irrigation modernisation, water supply infrastructure, waterways and drainage.
Knowledge and experience relating to the various aspects of the design, construction, monitoring and operation of irrigation assets and water supply delivery, storage and drainage infrastructure would be an advantage.
Within a team environment, prepare designs, technical reports, drawings, technical specifications for water infrastructure
Liaise and cooperate with other discipline lead engineers, CAD teams and construction contractors to develop integrated designs
Assist in the preparation of work programs and scheduling
Assist in the preparation of bids for prospective projects
Build strong relationships with key client personnel and identify and develop business opportunities
Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
Eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia
4 to 8 years’ experience within the water sector on investigations, design, and site engineering for capital projects ideally with experience working in multidisciplinary design teams. Experience in the irrigation industry would be an advantage, as would willingness to work and locate in regional Victoria
Knowledge of Rural Water Authority and Melbourne Water standards and practices strongly preferred
Client and stakeholder relationships within the water industry
Ability to build relationships and maintain rapport with clients and community stakeholders
Strong interpersonal and technical writing skills
Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure in a team environment
Enthusiasm for fast-paced major projects.
