Technical Advisor - Mechanical Engineer
Location: Orange, Texas
KBR is seeking a Technical Professional - Mechanical
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Write Mechanical scopes of work and participate in estimate reviews.
Generate E&HO budgets and schedules.
Prepare technical specifications for but not limited to: Pumps, Centrifugal Fans and Blowers, Filters, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Loading and Unloading Arms and other such equipment including High Pressure Equipment per API, ASME, and DuPont standards.
Develop equipment list and participate in Bid Analysis.
Contribute to the preparation of Inspection Test Plans.
Review vendor drawings and P&ID’s, facilitate pre-fab meetings and visit vendor shops when required.
Write Project Procurement Plans and attend PHA’s.

BS in Mechanical Engineering plus 10 years of petrochemical experience.
Experience in both pressure vessel and machinery design.
Literate in computer programs such as word processing and spreadsheet development.
Previous chemical plant experience preferred and previous DuPont experience preferred.
Must be able to sit or stand for periods of up to 4 hours.
Must be capable of climbing stairs and ladders in an industrial complex.
Must be capable of donning a 5 minute Escape Pack and carry an 8 lb. bottle of air to an evacuation point and then if necessary to carry the same bottle for while walking app. 10 minutes to an alternate evacuation point.
