KBR Australia has been engaged in working with Defence in Australia for over 20 years and has developed core competencies in systems engineering, systems and enterprise architecture, project management and integrated logistics support, to provide technical and management assistance to a wide range of Defence projects.

Our Government Services division is seeking a Naval Architect to join our project team in providing support to HMAS SUCCESS. The successful candidate will have experience in the sustainment of major naval surface vessels.

The successful candidate will be based at Garden Island in Sydney.

Responsibilities

·

Conduct engineering assessments to include options, recommendations and ROM costs

·

Conduct regular reviews of system design intent

·

Monitor material condition of the systems and equipment

·

Provide input into applicable systems analysis reports

·

Deliver engineering solutions to solve equipment obsolescence problems

·

Assist with reviewing engineering design tasks for replacement of marine equipment and conduct technical design reviews

·

Collate and analyse data to determine the health of systems as defined by system boundaries

·

Ensure a safe and healthy working environment

Requirements

·

Minimum 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Naval Architecture or a related discipline

·

Minimum of 4 years’ with 7

years’ related experience preferred

·

Experience in the application of classification society rules and the naval technical regulatory framework within a naval environment

·

An existing or previously held Australian

Government Security Clearance

·

Must be an Australian citizen (mandatory)
