Proposal Coordinator

KBR is seeking an experienced Proposal Coordinator to join a dynamic team of federal contracting proposal professionals based in our Houston, Texas proposal center.

The successful candidate must have experience writing and/or editing US Government proposals, and will be responsible for the coordination, organization and submission of proposals, including document management, leading proposal production, and coordinating the flow of all proposal team work products.

This individual will support Proposal Managers in the preparation of large, complex and strategic proposals primarily for the US Government sector. The Proposal Coordinator works closely with Proposal Managers, the capture team, and SMEs to write, edit and produce winning proposals. This position may also serve as volume lead for technical, management or past performance areas.

Qualified candidates will have experience coordinating large, complex proposals; collaborating with Proposal Managers regarding specific requirements to enable successful execution of proposal tasks; in-depth working knowledge and experience with document management systems; expert skills in Microsoft Office; and specialized experience with printing/production.

Key responsibilities include:

Oversee the full life cycle of document management for both electronic and printed material

Develop and communicate schedules for proposal completion

Develop and distribute appropriate proposal-related documentation including compliance matrices, style guides, outlines, templates, schedules, and presentations

Perform document management, including: complex manipulation of proposal documents (e.g., positioning of text and graphic elements); formatting properties such as the size and style of type, column width, and spacing; performing quality checks for document errors; coordination of graphics workflow; and the use and knowledge of Microsoft Office macros

Lead final production, including detailed planning of publication schedules in collaboration with the Proposal Manager; and logistics planning for proposal delivery

Support color team reviews by scheduling review meetings; document preparation/distribution; assist development of review team information packets; consolidating inputs from review meetings; and support disposition of inputs received

Support proposal meetings, including scheduling and taking notes

Support several projects simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment

Support non-proposal publications projects; maintain the proposal library (hard copy and electronic); and maintain knowledge base information

Required skills and experience include:

Undergraduate degree in marketing, journalism, communications, business or a technical discipline or related field from an accredited university

Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience supporting (writing, managing, coordinating) proposals in response to federal government RFPs in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment in engineering, construction and/or logistics industries

Strong editing skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure on multiple projects, and complete high quality work against strict and conflicting deadlines; the successful candidate should expect to work overtime on extremely short notice

Excellent time and resource management skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment with constantly shifting priorities

Demonstrated understanding of US Government contracting and proposal processes

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint

An active security clearance is desired
