Position Title:

Employment/ Litigation Attorney Part-time (Contract)

Position Description/Job Responsibilities

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Manage a variety of U.S. and international commercial, construction, personal injury and employment litigation and arbitrations.

This involves managing outside counsel and directing case strategy; participating in witness interviews and depositions; overseeing document retrieval and e-discovery; reviewing and editing pleadings and discovery; budgeting and tracking costs; providing oral and written reports to management on litigation developments.

Work with business unit attorneys on pre-litigation disputes with clients, vendors, and other third parties and provide other advice as requested.

Provide ongoing advice, training, and implementation of compliance strategies regarding U.S. and international employment laws as requested.

Draft and review policies, procedures, employment agreements, communications, and contracts for employment law compliance.

Manage employment related investigations from government agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Office of Federal Contractor Compliance (OFCCP), Department of Labor (DOL) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

Represented company in domestic employment claims brought through the KBR Dispute Resolution Program (DRP) or EEOC. Work involves investigating claims, representing company, and negotiating settlements in DRP mediations and EEOC charge process.

Qualifications:

Requirements/Qualifications

years’ experience in litigation and/or employment law in a law firm or in-house environment.

Prior in-house experience preferred.

Significant experience in one or more of the following areas:

employment law, construction law, EPC contracts, personal injury insured matters, international legal issues.

Ability to analyze and evaluate complex disputes and issues and provide business focused legal advice.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Team player and positive attitude.

Flexibility in working hours.

This is a contract, part-time position.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
