The Risk Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Risk Manager in:

The consistent implementation of ESMCP risk management practices in compliance with the Home Office policies and strategies.

Project risk management, opportunity management and issue management training, processes, templates and procedures for the project.

Managing risk work with all stakeholders across the whole Programme, including across the Other ESN Suppliers and Transition Groups as an iterative process of identification, assessment and response and shall work with all stakeholders including ESN Suppliers, User Organisations, Transition Groups and the Authority to identify risks (including future opportunities and threats) and issues (including existing uncertainties) using an iterative process of identification, assessment and agreement of appropriate response with the relevant stakeholder

Specific duties will include:

Supporting the cost and schedule risk analyses process, as required in accordance with the established guidelines.

Organising and facilitating risk workshops to ensure common understanding and implementation of the risk management systems.

Maintaining multiple Risk Registers, identifying and logging risks via an active risk management system. The Risk Registers shall be maintained through ongoing re-assessments to determine current exposure.

Ensuring risks are categorised by type, source and impact, and assigned a Risk Owner responsible for managing the response and monitoring status of the risk and response actions.

Supporting driving consistency and ensuring the maintenance of other supplier Risk Registers.

Supporting the identification of common or programme level risks plus the identification of risks to be escalated to programme or business level

Inputting into the Programme reporting as part of the reporting cycle, or on request by the Authority, which will be reviewed at the weekly / monthly meetings, as detailed in Governance schedule.

Submitting the Risk Register to the Authority, as part of their monthly reporting cycle, or on request by the Authority, which will be reviewed at the monthly meetings, as detailed in Schedule 8.1 (Governance).

Other duties commensurate with the role.

Qualifications

: Engineering Degree or similar

Preferred

Certified Practitioner in one of the Recognised PM methodologies, PMI, APM or Prince2

Experience and Skills:

Essential:

Proven record of implementation of risk management practices on projects.

Good interpersonal skills

Good client facing skills with the confidence to deal with people at all levels

Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team

Good IT knowledge

Practical experience in the use of risk analysis software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing and presentation skills

Able to successfully manage time, plans, projects and other related tasks
