Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.

Working within a Multi-Disciplined (Civil, Structural, Process, Safety, Electrical, Piping) Engineering and Construction Team, the successful applicant will be responsible to the Lead Engineer and Engineering Manager and be able to demonstrate the experience and competencies to execute any of the following tasks as required by project scope in the oil and gas industry

(e.g. Offshore Platforms, Onshore Gas Production, Refineries, LNG etc.):

Determines and specifies construction methods, materials, quality and safety standards and ensures that equipment operation and maintenance comply with design specifications.

Organises and establishes control systems to monitor operational efficiency and performance of process and systems.

Show a full understanding of the Process conditions and International Codes and standards that will allow them to Design, specify, size, and select instruments and equipment required for control and monitoring of process units and utilities.

Be fully conversant as an experienced user with the latest version with SPI relational database for the production of required deliverables.

Prepare Technical Requisitions and MTO

s of instrumentation enquiry requisitions

Perform technical bid evaluations of the supplier bids ensuring all technical requirements are met and technical issues resolve. Ensure unresolved technical issues are addressed and an adequate conclusion reached.

Develop and produce Instrument Vessel Sketches and drawings in line with project specifications, Standards and Company guidelines.

Design and develop new control systems packages to monitor operational efficiency and performance

Support in the engineering and design of various mechanical packages

Witness Factory Acceptance Tests and carry out inspections on various instrumentation packages and approve test certificates and results at vendor sites

Work collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers and procurement personnel

Develop basis of design documents Instrument Specifications and write and technical notes for the team to follow.

Perform site evaluation (site survey) for revamp and brown-field projects as required

Requirements:

Degree in engineering
